Stone #22

A wet day, the warmest we’ve had for weeks, but the air is dank, sour with the scent of rotting plants.

  1. I like that alliteration (I'm a fan of it) and you capture the sensual tang very well.

We can't smell anything here yet - everything is under snow!

  2. This stone makes me yearn for spring.I can just smell that odour that arises when the snow is gone.It is exactly the same as the one you've described.

  3. 'sour with the scent of rotting plants'

That aroma that takes your breath away. Nice picture of words once again.

  4. That describes our back garden perfectly. I was going to go out today to aerate the 'lawn' with the garden fork..... but it's raining heavily and standing on the wet grass is just going to compound the problem. Oh well. :) Nice stone... and I quite like the scent of rotting plants. :D

  5. Thank you for all your nice comments xx

Kat, (blushes) I penned this one in a hurry, and the alliteration wasn't intentional, so I can't take any credit for it!!!
